Not a scaled up version of the ALTER M 603 or M 703. The Alter M 809 is an quiete heavy proffesionell made large Maksutov, with same perfect moving mirror focusing system as the smaller brothers. The tube use an on all length insidethread to remove any straylight. The imagequality is similar to high quality 6" Apochromats and outperforms much larger Schmidt Cassegrains on nearly any object. After your first observing night, you think, that you used an high quality Apo. The sky is black, the objects are bright. and racersharp. Splitting double stars on the telescope limit, are no problem.
Custommade improvements as cooling van and electronicfocuser are possible for additional cost.
